From the south of the Loire Valley, this is surprisingly ripe and powerful by French standards. Aromas of citrus and asparagus make an attractively appetising wine.
Otis Tarda Rioja Joven x2 (Spain) 13.5% 75cl
Joven, meaning young, is the freshest, fruitiest style of Rioja. This has plenty of pure blackberry and strawberry fruits from the Tempranillo grapes. A very enjoyable, easy-drinking style.
Jasci Montepulciano d’Abruzzo x2 (Italy) 13% 75cl
Mature red fruits, jams and slight notes of cinnamon and vanilla are the inviting qualities in this central Italian red. The Jasci family themselves suggest drinking it with a plate of potato gnocchi or pasta with beans.
